Organic only!? Seriously? Organic food from China that you pay double the price for isn't that much healthier lol. I would rather pay, say 2 bucks for iceberg lettuce from the USA that has been treated with pesticides that the FDA says is ok then I would rather have that then iceberg lettuce that costs 5 bucks from China that is "organic" and has been treated with the same pesticides or worst. You are all buying into a bunch of bs.

This is foolish! Many certified organic products are grown within the US. Buying organic uses fewer fossil fuels in processing, typically supports local farming (many at your grocer are grown within miles of the store), is pesticide free and creates safer and ecologically protective farming procedures. Plus it tastes far better! Wise up!

I think I will just stop eating meat, don't eat much red meat as it is, I really feel like I could throw up this morning reading these pink slime articles! Our food is so PERVERTED ! Why do we have to put up with this !

Jack in the Box is not the only fast food that causes lipemia. I am a phlebotomist and I can tell when people have eaten at Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell (the worst). I can see the globs fat floating on top of the whole blood before it is spun down.
The video also teaches you that you should not eat a fatty diet before your yearly cholesterol test as it may be altered by your recent meals and your insurance company may raise your rates.

I think most people don't understand that the lipemia (thickening due to increased fats) that you see in fresh drawn blood is usually NOT CAUSED BY THE FAT IN THE MEAL(!). It is caused by the sugar and refined carbs (like white flour) ! Carbohydrate induced lipemia is the far more common form of lipemia. Fat induced lipemia is rare - usually caused by a genetic disorder.; The sugar is converted into triglycerides, and the triglycerides are on their way to be stored in the various fat cells around the body...(reference:Good Calories Bad Calories by Gary Taubes, p.57). Elliott Joslin reported this in the 1920's. It was also observed and commented on by Pete Ahrens at Rockefeller University in the 1950's. Natural fats are not the bad guys here. Saturated fats are nutrients. Cholesterol is is a nutrient. We've been eating these foods for thousands of years without any heart disease, cancer, or obesity epidemics. The main case against foods containing these nutrients has been made by vegetable oil and margarine producers. They villified coconut oil (which is just now recovering its good reputation), lard, and butter so people would buy more corn oil and margarine (both of which are high in trans fats it turns out). Same with the low-fat craze - buy more lowfat processed foods and help the lowfat foods industry. Look at the data for yourself. Don't believe me. Look it up yourself. If there are disease-causing elements in our food, refined carbohydrates is at the top of the list. Implicated as a causative agent in heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's, obesity, hypertensiton, insulin resistance, diabetes, metabolic syndrome.....In the 1830's we ate less than 15 lbs per person per year in the US. By the 1920's we were up to 100 lbs per year. By 2000 we were up to 150 lbs per person per year! That means is you're a 75 lb 10 year old, you are consuming twice your body weight in sugar each year!!

The blood from a high fat meal would be clear of the milky white lipids. The high carb diet would produce the lipemia!

how about leaving the cruelty off your plate completely and let the animals live a peaceful LONG life as it should be without human intervention. research "factory farms" on You Tube and learn the truth about where ALL meat comes from and what is in it! Better yet goggle and watch the full length documentaries Forks over Knives and Earthlings....THEN let's see if you still want to eat flesh.

The blood-slowing of saturated fat is no joke! When I was a poor college student and sold plasma, the phlebotomists KNEW who'd had fast food the night before. They'd actually call some of the regulars out on it! As a petite vegetarian, my trips to the clinic were much more profitable, my draws were fast and I was in and out in no time!

Of course we can say shame on these fast food restaurants, but I really think we should be saying shame on the FDA who knowingly allows these companies to poison us.

Next time, to make it more believable, it would be best if you had 2 people eating, one a hamburger meal, as you did here, and another person eating a healthy meal of veggies and chick peas. Then both get their blood drawn, and then show us the difference. I would repost that test. :)

Better yet: how about a blood draw prior to eating the fast food, and then another after. If his blood is normal before we can more plausibly attribute the visibly high triglycerides to the fast food.

There are a lot of things that look gross (or are gross) that go into your food, even if it's a healthy, organic, all natural gourmet meal. As long as it's safe and makes a tasty product in the end, why do you care so much? It is the hip thing to do, I guess..

really? things that are gross that go into food to make a good healthy organic all natural gourmet meal? not if its vegan. i cant think of anything organic, all natural, and plant based that i would be grossed out with in my meal. its really the meat that is the culprit of grossness.

Okay, they say that McDonalds hasn't used pink slime in their chicken mcnuggets since 2003 and is now also not putting the beef pink slime filler in their food, but can we trust any of these fast food giants anymore? What a shame to treat humans with such disrespect and let's not forget "deception". I say, let's cook meals at home and when we shop at the grocer buy organic whenever possible to at least "try"to get the real thing.

What is wrong with all you organic people? Organic food is just a fad that I am hoping will go away. Do your research and you will discover that *most* organic food you get at a grocery store comes from other countries and you can't even tell if it's really organic because we don't know exactly where it comes from. You are paying higher prices for a label that SAYS it's organic. Do your research before you waste your money and try to sound healthy.

also, if we must eat meat you should really keep it down to 25% of your diet or less. Ideally avoid it altogether.
