If you haven't seen this picture already, it's your (un)lucky day. It's the dreaded "Pink Slime" -- mechanically separated chicken cleaned with ammonia hydroxide, And according to Internet reports early last year, your McDonald's chicken nuggets were made out of the pink paste.
The
vomit-inducing controversial "pink slime" has been earning its fair share of negative publicity after
Naked Chef Jamie Oliver made his own pink chicken slime in a food processor on his TV show Food Revolution back in 2010 (which you can watch
here and again when he brought a couple butchers onto the show to explain "Finely Textured Lean Beef Trimmings"
here)
Last Friday,
The Daily Mail reported that the fast food giant McDonald's, along with Burger King and Taco Bell, will no longer be using the beef filler in their products. Score one for Jamie Oliver! It may have been safe to eat but it's pretty gross.
On another fast food-related note: Have you ever wondered what exactly those fast food burgers are doing to your blood?
