Back in November, I reported that Jeff Moriarty, founder of Ignite Phoenix, was planning to launch Ignite Food. And today, that vision is a reality.

With a desire to do for food what Ignite Phoenix has done for ideas -- inspire, educate, and entertain -- Moriarty announced the spin-off idea last year at Ignite Phoenix (where speakers from the creative, technical, and business communities have five minutes to speak on a project or idea), and has brought aboard customer relationship management (CRM) consultant and foodie Chris Lee to lead the first Ignite Food event.

Scheduled for March 19 at Stand Up Live at Cityscape in Downtown Phoenix (tickets will go on sale in February), Ignite Food is currently accepting submissions on "anything and everything related to food." Speakers will have five minutes to present with the option of using up to twenty PowerPoint slides.

Interested? Read on for submission details and other ways to participate.

Presentation Topics for Ingite Food:
Presentations can be about anything related to food: diet and lifestyle, cooking, drinks, food economics, pairings, ingredients, fun facts, dining out, food art, etc. Undesirable topics are pitches about a product or service the presenter is selling.

Get more details, submit presentations, and see examples of past food-related Ignite presentations here.

If you'd like make a donation to Ingite Food or share some goodies with the audience, go here. To volunteer for the event, email IgnitePhoenix@gmail.com.

Very excited about this! I hope, in addition, to all the new things I'll learn I'll also be able to try new, tasty foodstuffs.

Really hoping we get a huge range of submissions. Would love to see anything on a specific cuisine, dish, ingredient...anything wine, booze...maybe something on pairings or a specific pairing, something diet related, food allergy related, anything on growing, economics of food, food photography or anything that people can think of that ties into food at all!
