In what is most likely the first food truck casualty of 2012 and perhaps since the food truck phenomenon started, Clea Senneville and Jason Edwards, owners of Beet StrEAT, the food truck of vegetarian and vegan healthy eats, have closed up shop.

The announcement was made last week and the truck, the business, or both are currently up for sale via Beet StrEAT's website and Facebook page.

"Among my 'lessons learned'," a Facebook post from Beet StrEAT reads, "it is clear that there is a demand in Phoenix for whole, fresh, simple - and, yes, even meat-free - meals that are affordable and convenient. Phoenicians also increasingly are rallying around their local small-scale growers & food-makers.... This was our mission, and it was thrilling (especially as a native Arizonan) to recognize this about communities across the Valley - and how positive and cohesive our communities are and work to be."

"It's been a wonderful journey," another post reads, "but now it is time to let another have some of the fun."
