It would appear the winds of change are not blowing favorably for Local Breeze, the laid-back eatery in a converted home off of 4th Avenue and Fillmore and just blocks from downtown Phoenix.

For the past several days, the entry gate to the restaurant with a subtle tropical vibe and lounge-worthy patio has been closed, the phone hasn't been answered, and a sign on the front directs a scheduled private party to a new venue.

Local Breeze opened in 2009 courtesy of owner Sid Campbell who was a longtime cook at Pischke's Paradise, the now-shuttered Scottsdale eatery.

Huge loss for downtown.  Really depressed by this news.

This place never lived up to the previous tenant, Pallette.

The fact is, even with the quality product and excellent service from Local Breeze, it's a tough world out there and we're all cooking at home more and going out less often. I will really miss their burgers, nice patio and most important, really wonderful staff. Hoping to run into them wherever they land again, as they should, and their new employers should appreciate them.

Major bummer. I guess I should have eaten there more frequently. Downtown has lost a great place...
