If you find yourself near the 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd in Scottsdale, Thai House is a good bet for a filling Asian meal under $10.

Lunch specials are only $6.95. There are several main courses to choose from when creating your own lunch. Some of the options are familiar, such as Sweet and Sour Chicken and Pad Thai. Entrees come with a starter, including either a salad or soup of the day -- egg drop, the day we visited.. To be honest, the soup was just okay, but we had better luck with the main course.

Find out what we got after the jump.

We visited with a friend, and ordered Panang Chicken and Pad Thai Chicken for our main courses. The Pad Thai was your traditional stir fried egg noodles with chicken, scallions, bean sprouts and peanuts. The flavor overall was good, but there wasn't anything unique that stuck out.

On the other hand, the Panang Chicken was delicious -- with great curry sauce, creamy and a little spicy. (Your server will give you a scale of 0 to 5.) Made with coconut milk, bell peppers and topped with basil, this is one curry soon not forgotten. Panang Chicken went really well with steamed rice, for there is a lot of sauce and the rice helps soak it up. However, it is thick enough that if tempted, a spoon works great for cleaning out the bowl.

With a drink included, our meal was $8.45 plus tax. For a big lunch with healthy sized portions of entrees, served with a starter and a side, we left full and happy.
