Wounded Warrior's Fundraising Dinner
Need a few extra karma points? Your answer should be yes, which means you'll want to consider joining Rancho Pinot in Scottsdale for their special Wounded Warrior Wine Dinner this Thursday, November 10th. Inspired by the courage of one returning Arizona soldier with extensive wounds, the rustic restaurant has put together a gourmet five-course wine paired dinner to raise money for the Fort Sam Houston Warrior Family Support Center in Texas. Chef Chrysa Robertson's menu starts with a crostini with burrata, anchovy-preserved lemon and arugula followed by a pan roasted fish and roasted fairy squash risotto. Grilled leg of lamb with roasted root veggies and flageolet beans make up the main course and a light panna cotta with honeyed pears and lime-clove cookies will be served for dessert. All five course will be paired with wines from the J. Lohr's collection. Seating is limited, $100 (tax and tip included) per person. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. Call 480-367-8030 to save your spot.
We're four days out from Chow Bella's 2nd Annual Pie Social
! It time to start baking. Our second featured pie of the week comes from Jules of Jules Food
(well technically it's from the Martha Stewart camp, but Jules took some beautiful photos) and it's not exactly a pie but a tart -- a chocolate pear tart. Click here
