Pie Social 2011 Winners Announced

And with good cause. Hundreds of pies were consumed Saturday afternoon in downtown Phoenix, as some of the best chefs in town squared off in an extraordinary display of pie love. Chocolate was big.
You joined in, too: Community bakers brought everything from caramel peanut and chocolate marshmallow pecan to cherry chocolate and sweet potato pies, as well as a lemon chess we're still trying to get the recipe for. (We'll pass it on to you later this week if we do.)

Oh wait, that's not what you're here for, is it? You want to know who won the celebrity baker competition! Read on.
Ten celebs baked their hearts out, and as was the case last year (when Justin Beckett's pecan/fig dominated) we had a stand-out (though the judges praised the entire spread, agreeing the bar was definitely raised this year).

And thanks to you, Chow Bella readers, for joining us. See you next year!
