If you don't know about Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, the popular "cow to cone" artisan ice cream from Jeni Britton Bauer, or just wondered when the heck the Columbus-based company was going to make their way into Arizona so you could stop ordering online already, read on, you're going to like this.

Since mid-October, Jeni's has been available at The Farm at South Mountain and select AJ's Fine Food locations. Known for her use of fresh ingredients, simple packaging, and unique flavors like whiskey and pecans, goat cheese with cognac figs, and brambleberry crisp, Jeni's pints are pricey (about $12), but pay off in crazy-good, creamy, one-of-a-kind flavors.

Might have to spring for a pint and see what's up. Though I cant imagine any being better than our own Sweet Republic.

Admin, give it a try, and then you'll understand.  I've had both, and the two really can't be compared.  I can't tell you how happy I am to finally be able to get Jeni's locally.  There is nothing better!

I agree with Admin, but Jeni's was my favorite ice cream place when I lived in Columbus, OH. I am looking forward to get some of the flavors that she has to offer that Sweet Republic doesn't. Local first still though~

Meh, with sweet republic already IN Arizona, available in retail stores or scooped directly in their LOCAL shop, why go searching for imports?

Picked up a pint at AJ's Scottsdale and Lincoln (by the way the pints are on an end cap towards the back of the store) of the goat cheese with cognac figs. Unfortunately the pint had melted and was refrozen at some point in its life because the product was super icy. While the center tasted fine each bite had ice crystals which were not pleasant when trying to enjoy something that's supposed to be smooth and creamy. So be careful when spending $12+. Very disappointing.
