Jeff Moriarty, founder of Ignite Phoenix, wants to do for food what Ignite Phoenix has done for ideas: inspire, educate, and entertain.

"We want Ignite Food to include all aspects of growing, preparing, and eating food," says Moriarty. "We would like to hear from not just some of the amazing chefs in the Valley, but people who grow their own food, take food photography, feed a large family on a budget, or maybe struggle with a food allergy or diet limitation."

Moriarty announced the spin-off idea at this year's Ignite Phoenix event (where speakers from the creative, technical, and business communities have five minutes to speak on a project or idea), and tells me the amount of interest it generated caught him off guard.

While Moriarty doesn't know the when or where of the first Ignite Food just yet, he does know the format will be the same as Ignite Phoenix and has brought aboard customer relationship management (CRM) consultant and foodie Chris Lee to drive the event.

We'll have additional information on Ignite Food as it becomes available. If you're interested in presenting, go here to get on the mailing list. If you'd like to volunteer, email IgnitePhoenix@gmail.com.
