Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

Day of the Dead
The traditional Dia de los Muertos celebration isn't until the the first of November but the Desert Botanical Garden just couldn't wait 'till then. Join the Garden tomorrow night for the kick off of their annual Dia de los Muertos celebration with the tequila, food, and storytelling at the Cuisine and Culture of Dia de los Muertos event. Special guest Silvana Salcido Esparza, chef and owner of Phoenix's famed Barrio Café will be speaking about food's connection to the Mexican holiday and then will serve dinner from her famed Phoenix restaurant. After dinner, sample tequilas and listen to live music and storytelling from multimedia artist Zarco Guerrero. Tickets to the event are $62 per person, $50 for DBG members. This event is 21+. Wormy Worm
We couldn't top yesterday's grosser-than-gross severed hot dog fingers but these Jello Worms are a close second. Jello and cream are mixed and poured into straws then covered in Oreo Cookie "dirt". We're sure these would be a hit with the kids but we'll stick to something that doesn't look like it came from our compost bin.
