Chef Peter DeRuvo Leaves Prado

After less than nine months at Prado, the Andalusian-inspired fine-dining spot at Paradise Valley's InterContinental Montelucia, chef de cuisine Peter DeRuvo has left.

DeRuvo, who started at Prado in January a few months after leaving Sassi, the award-winning Italian restaurant at the foot of Pinnacle Peak, replaced chef Claudio Urciuoli, who went to work for Chris Bianco.

Erica Rich, marketing communications director for the Montelucia, tells me she cannot confirm nor deny if DeRuvo, who left at the end of last week, quit or was fired, and does not know what his future plans might be.

Rich tells me they are currently looking for DeRuvo's replacement and that she wishes DeRuvo all the best.

Who cares if he quit or was fired, I just hope the quality and consistency of the food improves. That place is too beautiful to not have a stellar menu. Excited to see a much needed change.
