Sustainable urban agriculture has a new face. It's 1/1000th of an acre and in the back of a pick-up truck. Ian Cheney, co-author of King Corn, has created a new documentary titled Truck Farm. Truck farm is described as a "whimsical, musical documentary about the quirky world of urban agriculture."
The plant-loving folks from Desert Urban Gardens are organizing Arizona's premier screening on Monday, August 22 at 7 p.m. at FilmBar Phoenix.

More details and the Truck Farm trailer after the jump.

This 48 minute film features a mini farm planted in an old 1986 Dodge. It travels around urban neighborhoods educating kids who might not otherwise get to experience a "farm." The project has turned into a "fleet" of 25 trucks designed to be an "edible exhibit."

If you're interested in previewing the trailer, we've gone ahead and embedded it right here for your previewing pleasure:

FilmBar Phoenix is located in Roosevelt Row at 815 N 2nd Street Phoenix, Arizona 85003.

If you can't make it to this screening, you can keep posted for a September screening by the Truck Farm Phoenix (one in the fleet of Truck Farm trucks) team, headed by Natalie Morris, on the Truck Farm Phoenix Facebook page or by emailing truckfarmphx@gmail.com.
