28: New Mexican Potstickers from Carlsbad Tavern

New Mexican food has a special place in our hearts, which are brimming with Southwest pride. Smoky, hot Hatch chiles, carne adovada, and cheese crisps topped with cheddar jack bring a smile to our face. When we're craving green chile in a cheeky environment, we head to Carlsbad Tavern, which takes the bat cave it's named after and runs with it. Order up a couple of apps, like their superb New Mexican Potstickers, and dine amid the quirky, plastic bat-themed decorations. The perfect destination for out-of-towners.

The New Mexican Potstickers were filled with tender shredded chicken that was lightly spiced and complemented the doughy wonton wrapper well. Packed with smoky green chile flavor and heat, these pot stickers were then doused in a creamy sweet corn sauce that had us practically licking the plate clean. Maize and green chiles with a creative twist? Bestill the beating of our native Arizonan hearts.

This looks amazing. It is always great to see children continue the tradition and take over a business that their parents started. I actually have done the same and my pops was big on decorations and that is something I make sure to do every year which i get from http://www.homeseasons.com/ . I wish he was still around as well as my grandfather to see where the company is now.

I worked for Carlsbads founder Mike Capriola(spelling?) at Nice to see his son is continuiing the tradition. We had great food and Francine upstairs with 'big" Jim on trumpet...
