Labor Day Luau
You totally have the opportunity to get lei'd this weekend (sorry, we couldn't help ourselves). The western-themed restaurant Harold's Cave Creek Corral will go the way of the lei this Sunday as they celebrate Labor  Day with a Hawaiian Luau complete with 10 tons of sand and, of course, a palm tree or two. The gates of the 14th annual luau will open at 5:30 p.m, September 4th. The live music is set to start at 6 p.m. followed by a Hawaiian buffet with roast pork, smoked mahi mahi, herb roasted chicken, and a slew of traditional Hawaiian cuisine. After you're nice and full, sit back and enjoy the Ka'ea Mauna Lani Hawaiian dancers or the reggae sounds of Grantman & The Island Beat Performers. $25 per person, $12 for children 12 and under. Last year's event sold out, so you might want to play it safe and snag your tickets early. Click here for all the details.

Trail Mix Day
Because the world wouldn't be complete unless there was a day for absolutely everything -- today is national Trail Mix Day. We're not sure who comes up with all these "holidays" but we will happily celebrate with a batch of hearty Trail Mix Cookies. Packed full of oats, almonds and cranberries, these cookies should hit the spot whether you're out on a hike or camped out on the couch. Click here for the recipe.
