Like a delicious secret tucked into the corner of a strip mall, Bertha's Cafe, the quaint little eatery at the Northwest corner of Indian School Road and 32nd Street, has been quietly serving up crazy good breakfasts and gourmet salads and sandwiches (not to mention owner Beth Goldwater's swoon-worthy cheesecake) to guests in-the-know since it moved from its old location in 2009.
The sandwich we consistently crave? The asparagus and Havarti panini. Flavorful and hearty, there's a reason it's highlighted on the menu.
Featuring oven-roasted asparagus, pesto mayo, arugula, roasted red peppers, and buttery-sweet Havarti cheese packed between two pieces of hot, pressed bread, the asparagus and Havarti panini is a robust lunch packed with glorious, fresh fillings.
Add chicken or ham or keep it as-is. In either case, you'll enjoy a bright flavor combination that's bursting with taste and texture. Plus, if you're into Mahjong, you can play while snacking on one -- Bertha's regularly hosts classes and game days.
