Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

Hunt, Gather, Cook
Hank Shaw, author of James Beard nominated blog Hunter, Angler, Gardner Cook has just released his first cookbook, Hunt, Gather, Cook: Finding the Forgotten Fest. To promote his back-to-basics book, Shaw will be teaming up with Scottsdale Culinary Hall of Fame Chef Chrysa Robertson Wednesday, June 8th for an evening of food and wine. The duo will prepare a multi-course menu at Robertson's Scottsdale restaurant, Rancho Pinot,  using locally harvested ingredients like cholla buds and prickly pears which are to be paired with Arizona wines. The menu is still being finalized but so far it looks like dishes of quail, corn-meal crusted trout and mesquite flour crepes will be making an appearance. Dinner starts at 6:30. Seating is limited, $75 ++ per person. Call 480-367-8030 to RSVP.

Cold Soup
Hold on to this recipe, it's going to be your best friend for the next few months. Delicious, cold, healthy gazpacho. Packed full of veggies and a perfect way to use up all of those not so beautiful tomatoes, try this chilled soup anytime you need a quick summertime meal.
