Did you think it couldn't get more creative than a pop-up? Think outside the box. Literally.
Outstanding in the Field is like the original pop-up restaurant but outdoors. Founder Jim Denevan grew up surfing in Santa Cruz and while he started in the kitchen as a dishwasher, he didn't get back into food until after a short lived career as a model. His travels to Italy got him back into food and ultimately back into the kitchens of Santa Cruz. In the late 1990s, while head chef at a restaurant, he started planning these farm dinners, celebrating the farm- to-table effort.

What you can expect is a spectacular table design, dinner guests from all over the world, a farm tour, wine parings with each course served family style and a better understanding about where your food came from. So much so that you'll be eating with the farmers who grew the food and the chefs who cooked it, in the setting where it all took place. Farm to table indeed.
