McLobster Sandwich Claws Its Way Onto Scottsdale Menu

Categories: News

Did you know that McDonald's restaurants offer a real lobster sandwich? Apparently, if you hit up the Golden Arches in New England or Eastern Canada, you'll find the McLobster: a combination of questionable seafood chunks, mayo, tartar sauce and lettuce packed in an overrated hot dog bun. In early March, the Internet rumor mill was ablaze with blog posts and tweets that had the popular sandwich bound cross-country.

Turns out the McLobster's staying put. Here's the "official" tweet (which sounds disturbingly like a teenage girl): "Despite all the rumors there r no plans 2 bring mclobster or mcsushi 2 the US menu. We r working on a new menu item called McWinning."

While the "McWinning" was just another bad Charlie Sheen joke, Parc Central Lounge at Scottsdale Quarter is filling the McLobster gap with Chef Chad Burnett's version of the filet-o-fish's Yankee cousin.

Forget the out-of-the-bottle tartar and pathetic excuse for a hoagie roll. Burnett's version of the New England staple is served on a fresh-baked salted pretzel roll and features lobster salad made with mayo and Sambuca. It's topped with deep-fried garlic, fennel and chives, and served with a side of truffled parmesan fries.

You can score one of these ultra-glam McLobsters for $20 during lunchtime at Parc Central Restaurant and Lounge,
15279 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale. "I think our version of the McLobster will be a hit," says Burnett. "In fact, McDonald's may end up calling their lobster sandwich the McParcster next year."

Now... who's up for making McSushi?

I honestly thought this article would really talk about Mcdonalds new sandwich coming to Scottsdale. Maybe this should actually be titled, "Nothing to do with McLobster".

That looks DELICIOUS.
