Devoured Preview Happy Hour Tonight: Mixology Masters Competition

How to build excitement for an upcoming event? These days, the answer is to host another small event as a "preview."

Tonight at 5:30, you can hit up The Vig Uptown to check out nine talented mixologists competing for "Devoured Mixology Master" honors. My pal from the Republic, Megan Finnerty, will be Mistress of Ceremonies, and she promises it'll be a bangin' party.

Your $10 price of admission will get you tastings of 2-ounce concoctions, and hopefully you won't get too tipsy to remember to buy tickets to the main event coming up on March 12 and 13: The Devoured Culinary Classic. They just announced participating restaurants (check out the full details here), and they also added a cool Friday night VIP event, Palette to Palate, teaming local chefs and winemakers with local artists.

Seems like everyone's doing these previews. The Great Arizona Beer Festival, happening this weekend, had a preview during Arizona Beer Week. And the folks behind the AZ BBQ Festival are promoting their March 26 event by catering the Neiman Marcus Fashion Night Out tomorrow night with kickass barbecue from Bryan's Black Mountain BBQ and Pork on a Fork.
