New in Anthem: Fine Dining at Cafe Provence

Five months ago, Cafe Provence took over the Anthem space that previously housed Madelyn's, serving a casual menu of soups, sandwiches, and salads.

Now, the restaurant has just branched out to French fine dining in the evenings. It's a welcome upscale option for the north Valley neighborhood.

Owner Sarge Malki, formerly of North Scottsdale's Bistro Provence, says diners can expect the same kinds of dishes he used to serve at his Scottsdale eatery -- rack of lamb, Provencal-style frog's legs, escargots with butter and garlic, steak tartare, sole meuniere, bouillabaise, coq au vin, and more.

Cafe Provence, at 39504 Daisy Mountain Road in Anthem, is open daily. The casual menu is served from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and the fine dining menu is served frmo 4:30 to 9 p.m. Call 623-551-1313 for reservations.
