The Interior: Located at the corner of Ash and 9th Street in Tempe, Casey Moore's has a large, mostly covered patio with an outdoor bar, a koi pond and casual atmosphere. They have bike racks in front, and make their patio dog friendly. These are some of the qualities that make this place a favorite neighborhood spot. The inside of Casey's is a little more refined. There are a few dining rooms and another bar. It is decorated and arranged in a way that makes an intimate dinner possible.
The Cost: Our check ran about $25 for two beers and three appetizers. Considering one of those appetizers included three shrimp cocktail and three impressively-fresh-for-a-land-locked-state oysters on the half shell, I would say the food at this happy hour is a pretty good deal. The beers, however, are not deeply discounted and average around $3.50 apiece with the happy hour pricing.

The Conclusion: The Chipotle Hummus was $4 during happy hour and although the presentation was pretty basic, with roughly cut tomatoes and cucumbers thrown on top, the flavor was wonderful and the pita chewy and delicious. The fried clams appetizer was another standout at $4. The combo plate contained three oysters on the half shell and three large shrimp cocktail and was served with an addictive "atomic horseradish" imported from Massachusetts. With the happy hour price, the oyster/shrimp combo comes to $7 and for a minute, if the breeze is just right, it evokes the feel of a New England summer afternoon. Because of their wide selection of both seafood and land loving appetizers, it is possible to get in and out of Casey Moore's rather cheaply for this kind of fare. The service, however, was a bit slow, but if you are there with good company, it is tolerable. Be advised that the menu at the restaurant is newer than the one published on the website and contains new items that are not on the old one.
