Interested in learning more about Slow Food Phoenix, and maybe even joining? Here's your chance to meet members and find out how you can be part of the sustainable food movement.

Grab a ticket for tonight's mixer at Postino Central, show up around 5:30 for a little Slow Food 101, and enjoy a tasting and discussion of Arizona Stronghold and Page Springs Cellars wines with winemaker Eric Glomski starting at 6:15.

(If you haven't tried these wines yet, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Yes, Arizona juice is mighty delicious! Read more about Glomski in a profile I wrote a couple years ago.)

Since this is Postino, expect scrumptious nibbles to go along with the wines. There will be local fig, brie, and local fig jam bruschetta, and a local tomato and farmstead cheese salad with herb vinaigrette and MJ bread.

Admission is $14 for members and $19 for non-members. Seating is limited, so buy tickets now.

Again, why can't these notices be posted the day before the actual event?
