Now Open in Old Town: Jimmy Woo's
As if Stingray Sushi, Geisha A Go Go, and Drift Lounge haven't brought enough Pacific Rim-inspired mojo to Old Town Scottsdale, now there's yet another new eatery from the same creative peeps: Jimmy Woo's Chinese Food.
Until recently, the space at 4th Avenue and Scottsdale Road was set to become a sushi/robatayaki spot called Samurai Cowboy, but, perhaps in acknowledgment that the area already has plenty of competitors in the way of Japanese food, the concept was changed to Chinese. On that front, it will certainly stand out.
Chef/co-owner Andrew Nam's menu is familiar, family-friendly fare: crab puffs, chicken lettuce wraps, egg rolls, chow fun, kung pao chicken, fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and so on.
There are daily lunch specials as well as menu items especially for kids. Daily happy hour, from 4 to 7 p.m., features half-priced cocktails, beer and wine, plus discounted appetizers. And for quick take-out, "Jimmy's Back Alley" is open all day.
Located at 4233 N. Scottsdale Rd., Jimmy Woo's is open from 11 a.m. to midnight, daily. Call 480-454-6697 for more information.
