Dairy Queen's Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Needs To Get Crustier. What? Am I Wrong?

Categories: Cafe Reviews

It's October and, happily for Fry Girl, everything's comin' up pumpkin. Right on schedule, Dairy Queen has returned with its seasonal favorite frozen treat, the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard which DQ bills as, "pumpkin pie blended with vanilla soft serve, crowned with whipped topping and nutmeg."

Yeah, it's pumpkin-y good. We like 'em, right? So am I alone in making this one, teenie-weenie suggestion...

Add more crust pieces.

There's not enough. We're talking pumpkin pie here, DQ. There should be a crust piece in every bite and those worthless crumbs you're scattering in there don't count -- they could be hardened pieces of nutmeg or pumpkin bugs for all we know. Crust pieces: bigger and more of 'em. Anything less would be disproportionate and wrong.

Sure, Dairy Queen's Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is good now, but it could be great. Oh, and DQ: charging us extra for more crust pieces doesn't count. I saw that on your menu. Almost 60 friggin' cents more? Nice try.

Am I wrong? Have you had a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and wanted it to be crustier or is it A-okay as-is?
