the Grand Avenue Festival Saturday, September 25 at 6 p.m. and Spaceship Phx: Ep. II at the
Firehouse Saturday, September 25 at 8 p.m.
What'd you eat for dinner last night? A vegan bean burro's at Conspire. They're a little spicy and very yummy.
Favorite food: Healthy food that's so tasty I forget it's good for me. I have a sweet tooth, and it's easy for me to go overboard on junk.
Least favorite food: Sauerkraut. I only disliked it until I lived in Germany, then I grew to actively despise it.
Favorite dessert: (Artist) Morgan McNally's cupcakes. They're so moist, you wonder how they can stay intact. And the frosting is perfect--luxurious without being too rich.
Favorite local restaurant and meal to order there: Fair Trade Cafe has a tasty chicken curry sandwich, and I love the beet salad with pine nuts and bleu cheese at Carly's.
Favorite local bar and cocktail to order there: I like hefeweizen, so I'll order that over a cocktail if I have the option, usually at Rose and Crown or Lost Leaf.
Favorite thing to cook at home: I'll stir-fry veggies with chicken (and cook a second pan with tofu if there are any vegans eating; I'm allergic to soy) and make brown or jasmine rice.
Favorite memory involving food: When I was growing up, whenever shimasani (my grandma) would visit, she'd make naneeskadi (Navajo tortillas, which are made from the same
dough as fry bread) and blue or yellow corn mush for breakfast.
