Good Times in Willcox
This weekend looks like a good time to get out of town and head south to Willcox. Temperatures are not expected to break 100 this weekend here in the Valley, but it's still going to be a good 10 degrees cooler down south. Aside from a weather bonus, there are two great festivals going on the old railroad town.
Annie's Apples will be kicking off the 10th Annual Apple Harvest this weekend. Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., take a wagon ride out to the orchard and pick as many apples as you like -- just be prepared to pay for whatever you pick when you're done. Once you have worked up an appetite, enjoy apple inspired eats such as an all-you-can -eat pancake breakfast with hot apple topping and cider syrup or for lunch chow down on an apple smoked burger with all the fixin's. Once you've had your fill of apples drive on over to the Coronado Vineyards for their 4th Annual Grape Stomp. A fun filled day of stomping on grapes awaits and after you have stomped your little heart out, end the night with a special dinner served from 4 to 9 p.m. Make sure you bring the kids to this one since they do make the best stompers. $10 per adult which includes a souvenir wine glass, all the grapes you can stomp and tastings of all the current wine releases. Calzone Cupcakes?!
Cupcake Project, one of our favorite cupcake bloggers, has done it again with another unique cupcake. Sort of like a mini Hot Pocket, the Calzone Cupcake can be filled with whatever you want and anything topped with melt-y cheese will be a hit. This one sounds much better then her dreaded Corned Beef Cupcake.
