Bliss and reBAR Set to Open This Friday
Bliss, a New American restaurant, takes over the 4th Street house-turned-eatery that was previously Nine 05 and Fate, while reBAR, a "rustic contemporary bar," brings life to the adjacent space on the corner. Both buildings are connected by a patio that will feature an outdoor bar and al fresco dining.
Executive chef John Cook -- executive chef at Fez and a Scottsdale Culinary graduate -- has created a casual comfort menu featuring burgers, mac 'n cheese, salads, pot roast, and barbecue chicken. Health-conscious diners can order most items "naked" to cut calories; at reBAR, there will be "naked," low-cal cocktails in addition to specialty cocktails, beer, and wine.
Late-night, self-serve "Bliss Boxes" will feature goodies like sliders, mini tacos, and mini grilled cheese sandwiches for five bucks.
The trio of co-owners behind the restaurant and bar bring years of experience in the hospitality and customer service industries. Mark Howard is part-owner of Fez, as well as a senior partner at Lucky Dog Creative, a graphics and ad agency. Jackson Kelly, who's worked in hospitality as well as the music biz, will be the general manager. Kevin Kelly has worked in customer service for more than two decades, including a long stint at US Airways.
Bliss will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to midnight, Saturday and Sunday. reBAR will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight, Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., Friday and Saturday.
