Bacon Club Chalupa from Taco Bell Returns -- Wait, Why Pay More?
Some might say it's TB's way of creating excitement (a la the McRib) to Bell-bitin' fans eagerly anticipating the next wave of bacon-style chalupa-mania. But methinks the Bell's painted themselves into a coin-saving corner.
$2.60 for this? As Taco Bell says, "Why Pay More!"
Hey, I didn't come up with Taco Bell's Why Pay More! menu, I just eat off it. Featuring such cheap eats as the Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, grilled chicken burrito, and soft taco for 99 cents, the crunchy taco and mini-quesadilla for 89 cents, and cheese roll-ups for a mere 79 cents, Taco Bell has taught me that I can eat at their establishment for the change I find in my car cup holder. Now they want me to fork over $2.60 for a Chalupa with bacon? No wonder it's offered for only a limited time -- I ain't no millionaire.
Maybe if it was worth it, maybe, but it isn't. The equivalent of eating a bad chicken salad with too-tangy sauce and rock-hard bac-o-bits in a chewy bread nest, your money's better spent back at the budget menu. At least there, you truly get what you pay for.
