The Interior: We were hoping to sit outside but it being the beginning of summer in Arizona, we opted for an inside sunlit table by the window. What's most striking about FB is how tiny it is. The walls are a mix of brick and stone wall all painted a warm yellowy orange tone, not so small that it's not cramped; it's more on the cozy side.

The outdoor patio seating area could stand a bit of TLC: not enough shade, poorly functioning misters and a clustered table set contributed to an uninviting spot. The space has the potential to be a fabulous plaza.

The Conclusion:  We were pleasantly surprised by Fuego Bistro's 24 item happy hour menu. The options are the same as the rest of their menu except these are served in tapas-styled portions. This is a good thing. It means the food is as well prepared as their lunches and dinners, not some pre-made warmed over afterthoughts. We ordered the organic veggie quesadilla, ahi tuna sliders and the empanadas. All three were delicious.

We've been here for dinner numerous times but never for Happy Hour. It's a bit on the early side for most, starting at 3. When we visited we were alone except for a large group of co-workers celebrating a birthday. But since the space is small, we didn't feel lonely.

The ahi tuna sliders are topped with a marinated red cabbage and a spicy sweet sauce with cilantro, the buns are buttered and grilled, the fish is fresh. The quesadilla is heavy on the veggies. inside the handmade flour tortilla were green beans, mushrooms, onions, green pepper, corn, light on the cheese. The empanadas were savory: beef and pork, chile stuffed inside handmade crusts with pico de gallo and a side of chipotle bbq dipping sauce.
