Number 78: Bourekas at Spices Mediterranean Kitchen
At times when classic Mediterranean dishes are what I'm craving, Spices always hits the spot. This friendly, family-owned spot serves up a solid variety of favorites like shawarma, crispy falafel with tahini sauce, and succulent lamb shish kabobs.
Still, shawarma isn't a rarity in the Valley, while bourekas is. It's a beloved Israeli snack that's a highlight of the menu here.
Think light, flaky puff pastry that's dissolves into warm, buttery comfort on your tongue. Filled with a mouthwatering blend of feta and mozzarella cheese, and served with tomato sauce for dipping, it's a guilty pleasure no matter if you keep it to yourself or share it with friends.
