Sangria Slushy: Frozen Cocktails at Caffé Italia
It's that time of year in the Valley again when stepping outside into the parching desert heat makes it nearly impossible to accomplish anything beyond whining, getting wet in any way possible, and drinking.

And what would quench your thirst and improve your mood better than anything else in the world, you ask? Two words: alcoholic slushy.
Better known for its tasty assortment of pizzas, pastas, calzones and other Italian delights, Caffé Italia on 7th Avenue (just north of Indian School Road) also makes its own delectable summertime beverages.
Try a tall glass of frozen Red Sangria, Margarita and/or Bellini (sparkling wine and peach purée). Each frozen cocktail costs just $3.95 (or less if you go for happy hour) and is made in-house with fresh fruit; no artificial drink mixes here.
Warning: do not try this at home. Adding liquor to your Iron Man 2 "Invincible Orange" Slurpee is much better in theory than execution.
