Chris Williams, What Are You Eating?
The improv actor with the Light Rail Pirates, Chaos Comedy, Buck, The Team Formerly Known as Hope? and The Torch Theatre performs with Light Rail Pirates every Friday night in February at 10:30 p.m. at Space 55.
What'd you eat for dinner last night? Leftovers of lunch from Pita Jungle, the Blue Corn Nachos!
Favorite food: This may be cheating, but I will go with my wife Lyndsay's cooking, followed by Cafe Poca Cosa in Tucson.
Least favorite food: Raw onions, however they are amazing when cooked.
Favorite dessert: Trader Joe's french vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, or Lyndsay's apple pie with same ice cream.
Favorite local restaurant and meal to order there: Gallo Blanco in the Clarendon Hotel has been our go-to place for good prices and excellent food. I really enjoy the Carne Asada Tacos, Chiliquiles, and the amazing Orange Cake for desert. Lyndsay loves their salads, and everything we have had there is great.
Favorite local bar and cocktail to order there: Pabst Blue Ribbon at the Bikini Lounge, formerly Schlitz at the Mill Avenue Long Wong's.
Favorite thing to cook at home: My wife cooks, because she is excellent at it. She is a master of tofu and prepares it many different ways. One dish we really like right now is a fennel and garlic pasta with tempeh.
Favorite memory involving food: My mother's lasagna always gives me the comfort feeling, like the food critic in Ratatouille.
Recipe or food tip to share: Have my wife Lyndsay cook for you! Also, all of the restaurants mentioned are vegetarian friendly.
