Uwe Boer with a big ol' mug of Nut Before Christmas Brown Ale.
Yesterday, Brewmaster Uwe Boer opened a door in to his home-brewing past by tapping a new seasonal at Sun Up Brewing. Named by a Sun Up staffer, The Nut Before Christmas Brown Ale is an English Brown ale that uses mostly ingredients produced in the GMT time zone.

We had both casked and regular samples of the brew. What did we think?

Taste: complex and silky smooth. The casked variety benefits slightly from some candy malts. Both versions go down so easy the rival the Lefthand Milk Stout for creaminess.

You can get yours: at Sun Up in growlers and even kegs (or just a pint glass at the bar), but be quick: "I usually say four weeks, but we usually run out before that," Boer laughed.

Verdict: The time for seasonal brews is now, and this is a great one! Go grab a pint and let us know. New Times is only a short drive from Sun Up and we'll take any excuse we can get to drink more of this stuff.
