Rilettes and Bone Marrow at Petite Maison

​How is it November and still so nice out?

Recently, I used the balmy nights as an excuse to take two pals to Petite Maison in Scottsdale. Neither had been there yet, and I got them hungry for French nibbles and wine. We sat out on the patio by the fireplace, made a meal out of many small plates, and practically adopted our darling waiter.

My friend graciously snapped this photo of the roasted bone marrow -- barely in the nick of time. We'd all pounced on it, starving, before I chimed in that I needed to document the experience. I tell you, my friends are champs for putting up with me sometimes.

​That marrow was ridiculously tasty on toast, but the duck rilettes disappeared just as quickly. You can tell from the bad lighting on my side of the table why I begged my friend to do most of the photography honors. (Yeah, I could've used flash, but I hate flash.) Anyway, rilettes on toast and a glass of pinot noir go so well with good company.
