Peppersauce Cafe for Under $10
Blink, and you might miss South Phoenix's Peppersauce Cafe, an unassuming little eatery with a cute patio and a country cottage interior.
The restaurant, which serves traditional American breakfasts and lunches, is fast with sit-down service. Grab a menu and a drink, then wait at your table for someone to take your order. (You'll pay at the counter after the meal.)

Peppersauce offers a variety of pancakes, omelettes, melts, pulled pork barbecue sandwiches, burgers and salads.
This salad was a meal within itself, but we also added a side of potato salad, which made our mega-meal barely $7, with a soda.
Our pal got a tuna salad ($8.25), also a hefty portion with albacore tuna, provolone cheese and egg wedges.

For as cheap as the prices were, it was really nice to taste some real home cooked food and still get some good service.
