Lots Going on Downtown This Weekend . . .

This week's Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, taking place downtown, seems to have spawned all kinds of fun activities planned for this weekend.

On Friday night from 6 to 10 p.m., the free Green Streets Festival will take over Roosevelt Street between 4th and 7th Streets. Along with myriad vendors, artists, and musical guests, there will be food from local chefs and a beer garden sponsored by Valley favorite Four Peaks (look for pumpkin beer on tap).

Also on Friday, the 3rd Annual Downtown Phoenix Pub Crawl ($15 for a wristband) starts at 4th Street and McKinley, where participants can hop a trolley ride to various area watering holes. The trolleys will run from 9 p.m. until 3:30 a.m., and the event will conclude at an after-hours breakfast spot.

Then on Saturday, if you're up for a little day drinking, hit up Bunky Boutique's "In the Yard" party (featuring entertainment, refreshments, giveaways from places like Royal Coffee Bar and Smeeks, and sale goodies from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) before settling in at The Roosevelt, which will be open early (starting at 11 a.m.) in conjunction with Bunky's shindig. Bunky owner Rachel Richards Malloy tells me that Matt Pool himself will be the loner slinging pumpkin ale behind the bar, so The Roosevelt won't be serving food.

Or, down a few pints at The Roosevelt and then go to Bunky -- might make for an interesting alcohol-fueled shopping spree . . .
