Chef Beau MacMillan Takes On Worst Cooks in America
MacMillan's headed back to the Food Network in January for a new show called Worst Cooks in America. He and Anne Burrell, host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, are charged with whipping a ragtag bunch of bad home cooks into shape during the six-week series.
It basically sounds like a foodie version of a makeover show, with contestants learning how to fold eggs or chop vegetables, rather than how to put on makeup and style their hair. The show begins with 12 students: 6 on MacMillan's team and 6 on Burrell's. Each week, a cook for both teams will be voted off the island, so to speak. The last two standing will compete for a $25,000 cash prize.
We can't help but wonder if this is a test for MacMillan as well. He's already made several television appearances, and he comes across well on the small screen. Could he be the next in a line of celeb-chefs to get his own Food Network show? We'll just have to wait and see.
Worst Cooks in America premieres on Sunday, January 3 at 10 p.m./9 p.m. Central on the Food Network.
