Local food blog review: Circle of Food

circleoffood.jpg

The site: www.circleoffood.com

The gist: Circle of Food has been around for 3 years and is all about healthy food choices and includes recipes, info on food recalls, local events and lifestyle tips. It's run by three women in different parts of the country, including blogger Karyn Zoldan of Tucson, so there's lots of Tucson and Arizona-related news mixed in with the general healthy food stuff.

The design: The blog is pleasant to look at, with a citrus color scheme. It's easy to navigate, and there are plenty of categories to help you find articles easily, such as Comfort Foods, Technology and Food and even Gourmet Dog Foods.

The verdict: The website's not the most technical, but that's part of its charm. It's like your 30-something gal pal is just gabbing about her latest food adventures, and they just so happen to always be healthy. We'd love to see more Valley food-related news, too, but we're digging the abundance of recipes and national food trend alerts on the site. We're impressed that with only two main writers, there's so much to take in, but we'd also love more frequent updates.

Bonus fact: If you decide you really love Circle of Food, the website offers brand merchandise, so you can dress Fido up in a dog blog T-shirt.
