Bashas' Closing 10 Grocery Stores

• To The main person in charge , peferible The CEO                 Today I stopped at your  Bashes store in Kingman AZ. To pick some of your great crab salad and a few other items. I ask the butcher if he had any great turkey deals. He replied ,if I purchase $25.00 in goods I could get a turkey for .59 cents a pound . He said hec a thirty pack and this crab salad would be well over that amount . I told him I like whisky better but that was a good plan . I got several other items and a bottle of brandy cream , went and stood my turn in line and the girl rang me up. When she got to the turkey she said I did not have enough goods to cover  a $25.00  purchase Because alcohol can’t be counted as part of my purchase. I told her she has to be kidding and she replied ,NO . I was so mad I just said F%^$# it and went looking for a manager who pointed out in your ad paper that alcohol dose not count as part of your purchase. It is in the fine print at the bottom of your ad paper just in case you have not read it . I told her that all it said on your sigh at the meat counter was, buy $25.00 in grocery’s and get a turkey for .59 cents a pound . No were on the sigh did it say (disclaimer) you need to read the fine print in our paper to shop here so as to get a good deal.  That is the short version of my story. I am guessing that you must not need regular customers like myself to stay in business , due to the way your people do business and also the way your manager handles herself. I think I will find a different grocer to shop . One who will maybe will be honest and treat me with some respect.   Bradley Hand     VARY DISSADDISFIED CUSTOMER. • <p>Bobococo dumps on Basha's but shops at WalMart? Um, I think we're looking at one of those pot-versus-kettle things here. WalMart is the Satan of retail. And really: thirteen exclamation marks in a six-line post?</p>

• <p>Whatever about Bashas,you didnt work for them did you!!!! they shut us down and we were helping so many older people that couldnt get out to the store,Now they are probably in a nursing home. I hope Bashas closes all there stores, I only shop at Frys or Walmart. If Mr Basha cared about the PEOPLE he would close AJ's!! Hate Bashas!!!!!!! I really hope this is the END</p>

• <p>I'm so glad our Basha's store in Camp Verde is not closing!! It is the only big grocery store around here. Also, they do so much to help feed the poor in our community. They have been so generous and kind-hearted. We really appreciate them in the Verde Valley.</p>

• <p>They just completed a complete remodel at Granite Reef & Chaparral in Scottsdale. Not on the suburban fringe but right in an established neighborhood.</p>

• <p>The last paragraph describes Basha's even before the current recession and bankruptcy filing. Look at how many locations Basha's has walked away from over the years: 16th St. & Bethany, 12th St. & Northern, 40th St. & Thunderbird, and many more -- all while building new stores on the outermost edges of sprawl. Basha's sometimes gets praised for being the local grocer, but shouldn't a locally based company try harder to maintain a commitment to established neighborhoods and not base its business strategy on growth in the suburban fringe?</p>
