Wednesday: Free BBQ at Joe's in Gilbert
With all the awards that Joe's Real BBQ has stacked up, the place could easily coast on its own fine reputation.
But that's just not how owner Joe Johnston operates. Instead, he makes a point to host an annual Free Day, dishing up gratis plates of the barbecue that made him a local personality. For fans of the restaurant, it's a nice perk, and for the uninitiated, it's an opportunity to find out what all the fuss is about.
And yes, it's gooood stuff. The deal is good for one meal per person, dine-in only, and you have to wait in line for it. So step up on Wednesday, May 6 (from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m.) for a pulled pork or chopped brisket sandwich, with sides of coleslaw and barbecue pit beans, as well as soda or bottled water. Tastiest thank you I can think of!
