A Burger Fit For a Sasquatch at The Lodge
![]() |
It's a new mega-splurge brought to us by chef Aaron May, who's added homey American pub grub to a repertoire that already includes Spanish tapas (Sol y Sombra), Italian (Autostrada), and breakfast food (Over Easy).
This monster creation smushes a half-pound of Angus chuck, cheese, bacon, and fried onion sticks between two whole grilled cheese sandwiches. Eating one of these will supposedly fortify you with 1,995 calories, 155 grams of fat, and 371 mg of cholesterol, all of which will probably make your pants expand a couple of sizes before you even leave the restaurant -- if you don't have a heart attack first. But I bet you anything it tastes awesome with a pint or three of beer.
You know, forget about Adam Richman. I think Elvis might come out of hiding for a Sasquatch Burger.

If you eat some of these you propably need a Clean9 program to get rid of the extra fat!

Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 6:19AMEver been to the Vortex in Atlanta. Try their bypass burger, 1/2 pound burger, three fried eggs, 4 slices of american, 5 slices of bacon, with grilled cheese buns. All these burgers are disgusting
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 6:24AMLooks like a fried egg on there as well!! Yum.. looks like this would be fun to share.. then it would only be around 1000 calories each, much like having Chipotle, LOL!

Adam Richman did eat a Sasquatch Burger on Man v. Food. Pffft, I could eat it, no prob. Like, after a brutal Metal show or something.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 6:40AMI think the most discouraging thing in this article is that they call him "Chef" Aaron May. Wouldn't it technically be "Big fat dude who's taking everyone down with him and never looking back" Aaron May?
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 7:04AMThat looks really good. Might be a liitle hard to digest
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 7:42AMIt's food like this that make heart attacks a pleasure.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 7:54AMThis is why the rest of the world hates america.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 7:56AMcan't believe a bunch of fatties on this board are actually complementing this monstrosity.

Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 8:04AMDisgusting, fatfucks - go work out, you are disgrace.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 8:12AMcalm down people - its just a big burger

Hey, at least we're not intolerant assholes.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 8:44AMi bet everyone that is dissing this burger is a vegetarian...this burger looks awesome. Theres no reason why people shouldnt eat food like this; although in moderation. I excercise everyday and my mouth is just watering looking at this monstrocity. Who hates America exactly?
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 8:50AMExcept for the Onions that looks pretty good and not even 2000 calories. At under 2k does it even qualify as fast food. Maybe we need to coke and fries to put us over the top.
Elvis sucked. Beatles rule!!
As for the sandwich, looks good, but it needs more visible bacon.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 10:43AMIt would be helpful if those who post articles like this would include the PRICE. Or is it a case of "if you have to ask you can't afford it"?
I clicked on the hyperlink to The Lodge but the item isn't on the online menu.
Also, 2,000 calories and 155 grams of fat mixes units (deliberately, since this is obviously the restaurant's press release) but doesn't tell us how many fat calories.
At first glance, the photo looked pretty good. At second glance, I'm not so sure. A hamburger should be first and foremost about beef. A half pound patty (before cooking) isn't that much. Bacon, yes. Fried egg, sounds really good. Cheese, yes, but I'm not sure about two whole cheese sandwiches on either side of the patty. The whole thing looks more gooey than meaty. Then again, it depends on the cheese used. I don't want the flavor swamped by nacho.
you all go eat that and ill just keep excercising and stay healthy...

yeah buddy we'll talk about that after you have a heart attack...im sure it'll change your mind...
stupid people disgust me...if you guys knew how good it feels to be healthy NONE of you would even touch a cheeseburger...
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 11:45AMI am a burger nut. Like, I will go out of my way, litterally over an hour, for a good burger. If I could only have one food for the rest of my life, it would be burgers.
This thing looks utterly disgusting. And I have eaten some freaky things between buns. Burgers too, but I digress. That being said, this would have to be a big pass for me. Just because its "so gosh darn ha-yuge!" doesn't make it good. Goodness people, did you look at the pic?
(oh...and the Beatles were, are, WAY overrated. And Elvis certainly didn't "suck"...)
So Michelle finally has a burger named after her?
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 23 2009 @ 1:49PMobesity is one of americas biggest problems and a reason that foreigners do not understand the country. it shows a complete lack of disrespect for oneself.
there are plenty of fit people that eat burgers, some even do it every day. however we don't drive everywhere. get on a bicycle or take a walk it will make you feel good and you don't even need to go to the gym if you don't drive at all.
i can't wait to have an in-n-out when i visit phx at the end of the month. i would NEVER pay for that thing up top. i've seen more appetizing "food" at filibertos.
well you'll need to work really hard to burn the fat of something like that, but it looks oozingly delicious
Posted On: Friday, Apr. 24 2009 @ 2:19AMman if we had this in NZ. it would be so great
Posted On: Friday, Apr. 24 2009 @ 4:21AMEmil,
You can always tell how many fat calories there are by the grams of fat. There are nine calories per gram of fat. Hope that helps.
Posted On: Sunday, Apr. 26 2009 @ 12:00PMand you wonder why our nation has a "ton" of overweight fat people with diabetes. go ahead and eat this you fat bastards. eat yourselves to death and get off this planet. you are wasting the the air that i breath and taking up space.
Posted On: Monday, Apr. 27 2009 @ 12:33PMI didn't see any pics of the people making the comments,or the people being called obese and fat. I work out and am 6'1" 190lbs, and that burger looks good to me too. I would try it. Not like everybody would make a steady diet of em. Just because it looks good doesn't mean you are huge or fat.
