Malee's Closes at Desert Ridge

Yes, it really is a reflection of the tough times. I just got word that after six and a half years in business, Malee's Thai Bistro offically closed its Desert Ridge location. Last Wednesday was its last day.

According to owner Deirdre Pain, the Desert Ridge Malee's was "a victim of the current economic crisis, which caused sales there to drop too much for us to remain open." But Malee's on Main, in Old Town Scottsdale, is still thriving and open for business, in case you get a craving for some Evil Jungle Princess (chicken and shrooms in coconut cream sauce with fresh mint!).

Lora says:

I went to Malee's at Desert Ridge all the time and it was always busy, especially after they got that new GM. I'll bet there were other reasons that it closed. It was one of the only restaurants of its kind in the Desert Ridge area. I seriously bet there were other things going on that caused the closing...it seems everyone is blaming the "economic crisis" for their problems.

Didn't her husband tragically pass away recently? I wonder if he was the one with the money. Either way, this sucks. They had good pad tai.
