Gross Out: Foul-smelling cutting boards at one Tokyo Express

If you were a teenage girl in Phoenix in the 1980s, chances are that you indulged more than once in Tokyo Express. The whole notion of (relatively) healthy fast food was a novelty at the time -- except for the baked potato at Wendy's, everything quick and cheap was fried and fatty.

My friends and I adored Tokyo Express. I still stop by for a quickie from time to time, but I'm not sure I'll be stopping by the TE at 9th Street and Camelback, after their August 29 county inspection, which included several indiscretions. The worst (and first time I've actually seen an inspector note a scent):

"CLEAN" CUTTING BOARDS STORED IN AREA THAT WAS DIRTY. CLEAN CUTTING BOARDS HAD HAIR ON THEM AND SMELLED FOUL.

I don't know about you, but I swooned when I read that.
