Jan Brewer: Ignorant, Irrational, Prevaricating, Self-Serving Bigot

Jan Brewer, one mean-spirited lying bigot...

They don't call her "GED Jan" for nothin'.

Following U.S. District Court Judge David Campbell's ruling this week in Arizona Dream Act Coalition v. Jan Brewer, Brewer was quick to gloat and mischaracterize Campbell's decision, painting it as a vindication of her prejudiced policy.

-Jan Brewer's Bigoted Policy Denying Driver's Licenses to DREAMers in Federal Judge's Hands

On her Facebook page, someone who knows how to spell wrote on behalf of our English- language-challenged chief exec that, "a federal court UPHELD my Executive Order and Arizona's law denying driver's licenses to illegal aliens who President Obama has allowed to remain in our country under his outrageous [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] program."

"Upheld"? In your dreams, Jan.

True, Campbell declined to issue an injunction against enforcement of the order, as sought by the plaintiffs.

However, there are stringent requirements that must be met before a judge can issue such an injunction.

The wronged party must be likely to succeed, and there must be a threat of irreparable injury, if the court does not act.

Campbell concluded that the plaintiffs had not demonstrated a likelihood of irreparable harm. But the judge did find that Brewer's fiat likely violated the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment, which prohibits states from denying "any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

That finding by Campbell gives the lie to Brewer's assertion in a press release that the judge's decision was "a victory for states rights."

States do not have the "right" to violate the Equal Protection Clause. If they did, we might still have enforced segregation in this country.

Indeed, the very use of the phrase "states' rights" hearkens to the old Dixiecrat defense of Jim Crow, and even further back, to the antebellum South's defense of slavery.

Brewer wants to "Enforce Arizona's Laws" so why dont we start with her Defrauding Social Security of $75,000.00 to reward her Knife Point Rapist Son Ron?!

Just because the Feds after investigating this Crime, chose to let Brewer pay back the stolen Social Security Money dosn't mean she should not face Justice for her Crime!

To: "Enforcing Arizona Law.

You say "But the judge did find that Brewer's fiat likely violated the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment, which prohibits states from denying "any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

False!  Truth is, Dreamers are still illegal aliens any way you look at it and states can and should deny drivers licenses to illegal aliens.

Obama's Dream Act did not include a drivers license or even the right to vote.

The problem would be solved if Dreamers would simply go get a Green Card but oh no, they want everything served to them on a silver platter.

My God, the commenters here are ignorant. Try reading the article before commenting. The Judge did not "uphold" anything: the judge denied an injunction. That is not a victory for Brewer, it merely delays overturning Brewer's racist political gambit until a suit is ultimately and inevitably sustained as a violation of the Equal Protection clause. All this signals is that we, the taxpayers, are going to incur much more litigation expense as the the Governor defends her nativist hissy fit - and loses.

Arizona knows "How to Pick 'Em"!!! How much of Arizona's Funds have been spent on "Jan Brewer's Law Suits"?

Oh and by the way, there will be no immigration reform as you see fit. The only reform that will happen is our laws will be enforced.

Once again, GED Gin Jan opens mouth and inserts foot

Wait for it.. 3....2.....1... Here come JAFfy crowning this as a win like he has been doing on other stories here... Once again JAFfy (Robert Graham) failed reading and reading comprehension just like Jan, since this was not a win in the case at all, since the actual lawsuit is still to be decided.

I wonder.. could JAFfy (Robert) really be Jan in drag? Or is GED Gin Jan really JAFfy (Robert) in drag... so hard to tell since they both look like they are in drag...

@TeaPublican No, it says a lot about the majority of people in Arizona who are allowed to and actually vote (spoiler alert: they're old, they're white, and they're racist)

Well for one thing, it's hard for them to learn about their own prejudices, what with the disbanding of their ethnic studies programs in schools.

Robert, the 14th Amendment prohibits the State from denying any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

While Obama's Executive Order is not itself a federal law, it has the FORCE of law.

The right to vote is enshrined within the 15th Amendment. That amendment prohibits the State from denying someone the right to vote based on race, color or previous condition of servitude.

The application for a green card is much more complicated than your non-existent brain seems to comprehend.

@JAFFYQUACK. Hey Quack, is just a matter of time for Judge Campbell to rule against the DRUNKARD GUV,  since denying driver's licences to these Dreamers is a clear violation of the Equal Protection Clause, furthermore, due to Her racist views, which I thinks it's what really drives Her to do so.

To me the Illegals , are U and UR family, since who knows where the fuck U cesspool came from, bringing UR racism and hate for people that have more right to be in this continent than U do.....people like Mexicans, whose ancestor have been in this American Continent long before UR kind INVADED this Continent, bringing UR fucking diseases, UR evil ways, not to mention, criminals like URself. PPPPFFFT, FUCKING CESSPOOL.

@mbryanaz I have read the article and it is bias and completely false (same as every other New Times article).  In other words it's a classic example of yellow journalism.

@JoeArpaioFan There are 47,000 people that got an AZ Dl with a federal work permit already.  There are thousands more that got an AZ DL with a work visa.  And then, more with a green card.

You have no concept of what being here with the approval of the feds means.  It's NOT only a green card!  It can take a decade to get a green card after being in the US legally!  Next time you deliver Whoppers to an Intel plant, just ask around.

IdontRecall

@JAFFYQUACK, There's no need for a Green Card, once Judge Campbell throws out all that Gin Jan's bullshit, then Driver's Licences are going to be available for all these people, sorry to pop UR little bubble dumbass, better yet. licences for all the "Illegals", what do U say BUTT FACE?

Actually there WILL be immigration reform. It'll be better than IRCA, the Reagan-era amnesty program and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.

@Flyer9753 The judge did the right thing to uphold Brewer's drivers licesne policy. You see, I told you this would be the case a long time ago.

@yourproductsucks Your statement should begin with "Once again.."

The incompetence of this woman is astonishing. The said thing is her supporters will only hear the words Jan said and they will not read or pay attention to anything that indicates otherwise.

They will live like an ostrage , drinking the cool aide, thinking Jan actually scored one on those pesky liberals.  People will point out that this was another case Jan fumbled like a child and the local voting block that per her in office will claim "lies".

It's the same story, it's been told before. They've built up such a mis-trust in the media that they can report lies and her supporters swallow it hook line and sinker.

Meanwhile lawyers in AZ continue to get pad off the backs of the tax payer.

enough is enough, we need some sensible leaders.  They did the say thing with the report on the Mexican American Studies class.  Seeded the press lies in hopes no-one reads the actual report.

I mean who wants to read these boring things anyway?

Judge Campbell didn't uphold GED Jan's DL policy. He merely agreed with the state that her order didn't conflict with federal law.

He ruled that the immigration activists were likely to succeed with their argument that Jan's Executive Order violated the Equal Protection Clause to the 14th Amendment.

@Aznativemom No.  Arizona is the place to be.  The demographics say it all:

Hispanic 31% and growing (voted 72% for Obama)

Black 5% (voted 93% for Obama)

Asian  3% and growing (voted 77% for Obama

American Indian 5% (voted 80% for Obama)

non-Hispanic White gays 3% (voted 78% for Obama)

Whites (non Hispanic, non gay) 53% and declining.

Over 50% of the under 18 population is Hispanic.

The only thing that saves Republicans is that Latinos and Indians have a low propensity to vote.  But, man, have the Republicans tried to change that with Latinos.

Witness Brewer's approach detailed in this story.  Not a way to win friends and influence people.  But a great way to let Latinos know who's the enemy.

Arizona will shortly be purple (2014), then blue (2016).

I'm not leaving; things are going my way.
