As usual, when America takes a step forward, Arizona take two steps back.

Just think, as the last bastion of white supremacy, Stinky Finger Jan can instruct the Dept of Tourism to start touting the state as a haven for the KKK, anti-govt malitia groups, the Westboro Baptist Church, or any batshit crazy who has an AK and wants to Pertekt the Boarder. People like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Michael (Weiner) savage can broadcast from Arizona so they're surrounded by their "base."

What a bright, and above all WHITE Mecca Arizona can become.

The smell of VOTER FRAUD is strong with those provisional ballots. They are being closely scrutinized to be sure everything is on the up and up. Any ballots that have been cast fraudulently will be eliminated.

@JoeArpaioFan I agree and the Republicans are carefully screening them to make sure that fraudulent ballots are not counted by scanning them to see if someone has voted for Obama. Since Obama was not born in the US voting for him is fraudulent and such ballots should be discarded.

At least that's how it works in the minds of the loons who spent far too much time trying to discourage people from voting.

Stephen - Appreciate your optimism but Carmona will have to beat Flake by about 17% in the remaining 473,674 outstanding ballots in order to prevail. Carmona will have to poll about 56.5% to Flake's 49.5% in order to eek out a small victory. (Assumptions: Victor will continue to poll around 4% and 30% of the provisionals will be tossed. Adjustment: SOS outstanding early ballot count reduced by 106,641 per your update). I like your optimism, but this will be a tough one to pull out

@MaskedMagician1967 No chance whatsoever. As of the end of yesterday, there were 237,359 early ballots left to tabulate and Arpaio was leading Penzone 517,516 to 430,156. Assuming that Stauffer continues to receive 4.5%, Penzone would have to out-poll Arpaio by 37% (66.25% for Penzone vs. 29.25% for Arpaio) in the remaining un-counted early ballots for a very small win.

I hope when everything settles and people look at the election in Arizona they realize that education needs to be our top priority! What the election proved in Arizona is there are some seriously uneducated people here. Going through news and blog responses, watching them write things like Mitt won the popular vote. Wrong. Obama won the electoral and popular vote. Arizona elected Arpaio again? Is it because they don't read the newspapers and elect by looking at the signs on their street corners? Arpaio had more money and the most signs. Just trying to somehow rationalize it and that's the only thing I could come up with... I can understand why the Arizona government wouldn't want to push education but I think it all comes down to that has to be a priority.

It's sad that our Secretary of State spent more time worrying about my 2nd term President's birth certificate than considering how to make voting a more efficient process, the Constitution llaw, and ensuring voter rights are ensured.

I suggest taxing the SuperPacs to fund an independent organization to control this process because AZ leadership is stupid and biased, and that who I don't want running my election process.

Hey Bird: So they spent the entire day today counting and only added 44K counted? We must ALL keep a very watchful eye on these numbers and make sure that every vote is counted. If you dropped off your EV on the last day, they don't count them that day, they send them to the county, the county counts them from morning till night, updates the numbers daily. Next time, folks should mail them in sooner if they want a quicker result or sign up for higher county taxes so you can pay for more workers and more machines.

@LGN81 Why aren't they counted by now? They were picked up at the same time as the ballots filled out on Tue ate the polling places. It's not like there is anything that makes them "provisional".. DISGUSTING. And it seems LGN, you don't give a crap that it makes AZ look third world!
