Joe Arpaio's Pink Underwear Torn to Shreds in Hilarious New Video from CPLE

Citizens for Professional Law Enforcement, the bi-partisan group headed by Democratic Arizona state Representative Ruben Gallego and Republican operative Carlos Sierra, have just released the hilarious, blistering animated video above, which takes Sheriff Joe Arpaio to task for his unnatural obsession with what his prisoners wear under their striped pajamas.

The video is the work of Brian Nissen, a local maestro of political comedy, known for his gut-busting spoofs of recalled, ex-state Senate President Russell Pearce's campaign shenanigans, featuring the characters Dwain Polk and his twin brother Dwite, both played by Nissen.

Gallego tells me the group is currently hustling to raise enough money to run this gem on local cable, with fundraisers in the works for Texas, Arizona, Colorado and California.

"We'd like to do TV ads and mailers," he told me. "But we'll use the methods best to skin the cat."

Animated cartoon political ads? What demographic finds those opinion-changing? I thought the problem was uninformed voters (who I thought would enjoy cartoon political ads). Funny I look at NT's website and see that idea (which I thought was novel) proffered in an attempt to sway voters who would supposedly vote Arpaio out of office because of being better informed. Sure, the ad recounts instances of Joe Arpaio's malfeasance, but does it do that convincingly? This is a joke, right? Leave it at that.

this just proves all joe cares about is color. "i can win on pink underwear alone" is not the response of someone who is concerned about issues like rape, murder or a multitude of other crimes. if joe is more concerned with inmate fashions than he is about crime issues he should go on "project runway" instead of trying to run a police agency, i know I'd feel safer.

Interesting spin on the famous quote from the infamous MCSO shurf, "I can be elected on pink underwear, I don't need to show the ability to form cogent sentences based on logic, knowledge of constitutional law, ethics, or honesty. I have all the blue hairs out there who want me for my ability magically make all those illegals disappear so crime will go away".

disclaimer: On the first seven words of the quote might have come from the MCSO shurf's mouth. The rest of the wording is far too advanced to have come from him. But, the message is there, all the same.
