Russell Pearce's New Signs Tout His "Eduction" (w/Update)

Maybe Pearce actually did get an award for "eduction" He finally educed that he really is a racist, bloviating wingnut!

It's obvious Pearce's supporters didn't pay attention in "skool".

I agree with all the comments about Pearce, but I have a problem with the photo showing the Arizona Teacher's Association add-on above the Pearce sign. I don't see any visible means of support. It looks like it's simply floating above the Pearce sign. It also uses a different font from either the Pearce sign or the yellow Golden Apple Award add-on. I wonder if someone Photoshopped it in the pic.

Perhaps there is one teacher who supports Señor Pearce, and he or she has an association. Multiple teachers, who form an association, would know enough to call it "Arizona Teachers' Association," and would have registered it as such with the Arizona Corporation Commission. Considering Mr. Pearce's propensity for stretching the truth, or making it up, coupled with the slashing of educational funds, I doubt there is a viable "legal" association comprised of teachers in Arizona who support Mr. Pearce. "Illegal is illegal, Mr. Pearce." Take down the signs. Insist that the associations that support you "have their papers" and are registered associations with the Arizona Corporation Commission.  Correct your punctuation as well as your spelling in your next series of public postings.

I seem to recall that when Bill Clinton was nearing his final days in office Jay Leno was concerned about not having enough material for his monologues.

It seems to me that when Pearce is formally gone, after August 28th, we will have some quiet time and may actually get some work done.

Not likely, however. When one yojo like Pearce goes away another will show up just as stupid and uncaring. We will need to watch for more of the ilk of JT Ready and Russell Pearce.

Pearce is absolutely certifiable.  This from the man who slashed education and child health, and even after a sales tax increase to supposedly stop additional educational cuts, he turned around and axed education some more!

Pearce and CQ are eff'n idiots, not because of their smarts.  They only succeeded before because of voter apathy and the AZGOP's manipulation of discouraging other GOP candidates who would otherwise have run against him.

Thank goodness for community leaders finally stepping up to the plate, thank goodness for Bob Worsley.

Pearce is trying to reach out to the tech savey youth by shortening the words to fit in a "tweet" space.  See that yellow add on was supposed to simulate a tweet on a cell phone's screen.  Come on now, who hasn't tried to fit a tweet in with "net speak"? 

The “Golden Apple” award is given by a shill organization called Arizona Parents for Education, which is essentially a lobbying group supporting for-profit (big profit) distance learning. The claim of endorsement by the Arizona Teacher’s (sic) Association is obviously another attempt to fool the public – a lie.  The two mis-spellings certainly bear the mark of dirty old Matt Tolman.  It may turn out than the Arizona Teacher’s (sic) Association has even less substance than the Arizona Family Project, which endorsed Pearce last year. This "Project," doled out "Friend of the Family Awards" last year to 54 of the 60 Republican state legislators, and no Democrats..  It was run by none other than Constantin Querard.  That’s the Constantin about whom it was said, “Call Constantin and you can get an endorsement from Sheriff Joe for $2000.”  The Arizona Family Project performs no other function than to give nearly all Republican legislators awards. Its a shill designed to fool people; its only purpose is to fool people. Decent people would be too embarrassed to tout these transparent attempts at deceiving the public when seeking an office of Honor and Trust.   Not Pearce.

Well, it's true that their is no longer any "A" in Arizona's eduction policies, thanks to legislators like Pearce and organizations like the AZ Teechers Ass.

Are you sure it shouldn't be the "Golden Horse Apple" award?  It goes with his "world's greatest Cow Pie" award!

Pearce can also be given the blame for Adult Education in Arizona getting ALL of it's funding cut, making Arizona the only state out of 50 to do such a thing...it's been 3 years now without any funding from the state.  In June many great Adult Ed teachers received the "ax" and Adult Ed. is a shell of it's former self....Thanks Pearce...you are NO friend of educators...except maybe on-line quack schools and sub-par charter schools.

Actually, I believe that Pearce supported a cut to the Education budget of $237M the year you are referencing, Stephen.  It was cut down to the listed amount only through negotiations with Brewer.

Pearce apparently was awarded the Golden Road Apple award by the Stable Hands Union.
