Snacks included? Well, who could pass that up?
After being run out of three venues in Phoenix last month by activists, a fundraiser for recalled, former state Senate President Russell Pearce has finally found a home at a local hotel run by one of his supporters.

According to an item on the conservative Sonoran Alliance blog, Pearce and his ethically-challenged ex-Justice of the Peace brother Lester will be having a co-fundraiser Saturday, July 21, at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites in Fountain Hills from 4-8 p.m.

Lester, who comes off as bright as a hockey puck, is running for Maricopa County Supervisor, a prospect that would be truly frightening if he had a snowball's chance in Yuma. Russell, of course, is attempting a comeback in the Legislative District 25 GOP primary, where he's facing off against nice-guy entrepreneur Bob Worsley.

"No charge to attend," reads the notice. "Snacks included!"

Sound desperate? Well, Russell Pearce is, having raised a little less than $3,000 from the start of January to the end of May, as compared to the nearly $67,000 in receipts for Worsley during the same time period.

Pearce has been forced to re-use the campaign signs from his disastrous recall campaign last year, and he's been begging for a debate from Worsley, who is acting the part of front runner and ignoring him.

In June, a Pearce event was booted from three venues in one day after activists dogged each spot with the promise of protests and boycotts. Which is likely why Pearce is having the event in the remote burg of Fountain Hills, where rabid supporter Gary Lvov manages a Holiday Inn, thus helping Pearce avoid the humiliation of again having his fundraiser canceled.

Lvov donated money to Pearce's anti-recall effort in 2011, and this year, he's donated both to Pearce's LD 25 bid and to the campaign purse of Pearce-lackey, state Representative John Kavanagh.

So anyone have any idea how the fund raiser went?

Thank you for saying that about my Russ TV ad. I did not know Pearce was behind and had passed Prop. 300. That law violates a U.S. Supreme Court ruling from 1982 (Plyler vs. Doe) which states that immigration status cannot be requested when enrolling in school. I'm presuming that includes college.  I also forgot Pearce being fired from the MVD for altering a Tucson woman's driving record so she can get her license back. The list is just so long with Pearce it's hard to remember everything. Pearce is, in terms of corruption, on par with the MCSO shurf and Candy Andy Thomas, two other people I highly despise.

Masked Magician, I love your ad about Pearce because it captures almost all of his dastardly deeds.  There one one glaring deed missing.  It was ol Russell himself who pushed prop 300 which made it so every student attending community college had to show proof of legal status to take classes at the community college.  Because of this law, many wonderful "dreamers" are unable to attend college or now have to pay out of state tuition which most just can't afford.  It's also forced every English language class and GED class teacher to get proof of legal status from their students before they can enroll.  I am a teacher, not an INS agent.  I've had no training in legal documents yet I have to be the "document" police for my job.  This is all thanks to none other than Russell Pearce.

I am even more proud now that I know I've donated more in the past two weeks to Worsley, and Moving Mesa Forward (Citizens for a Better Arizona) than Lester's been able to come up with.

Don't shoot the messenger. This guy Lvov is a franchisee and he is the one making the decision to 'host' this event. I won't be recommending any visitors stay at the HI in Fountain Hills, unless they bring their own tea bags, of course.

Unlike you Rachel, I actually have a job. Speaking of, have you showered and washed your hair for our date yet? No? I figured.
