Russell Pearce Recall Scores 18,315 Signatures and Counting, Let the Battle Begin

russellpearcehawaiianshirt.jpg
Mark my words, Pearce is going down...

Russell Pearce, have a heapin' helping of freshly baked humble pie.

Citizens for a Better Arizona, the group spearheading the effort to recall the powerful state Senate President, made history today, turning in 18,315 signatures to the Arizona Secretary of State's Office, more than double the 7,756 signatures required by law for a recall election.

SOS spokesman Matt Roberts confirmed the receipt of the signatures, and recall organizer Randy Parraz promised that the group will be turning in more by days end.

The SOS now has ten days to review the signatures and get them over to the Maricopa County Recorder's Office for verification. The recorder then has 60 days to verify the signatures. If the petition sheets pass muster, the SOS will send a letter to Pearce, telling him he can either resign or face a recall.

There's a period during which legal challenges can be made, then the ball heads over to Governor Jan Brewer's court, where she'll have 15 days to make the official call for an election. Roberts said that depending on whether or not the different entities involved use all of the time allotted the recall election could go down either this November or in March of next year.

Parraz's folks have been scrubbing the sigs, keeping those from qualified electors of Legislative District 18, from whence Pearce crawled from the primordial slime. So a recall will happen. It's only a matter what the date will be.

Pearce and his allies, like failed U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Hayworth, are already squealing like the stuck pigs, e-mailing fundraising requests to the rabid Republican horde that refer to recall volunteers as "ultra liberal, open-border, pro-amnesty mafia...who carry swastikas and call ALL conservatives Hitler."

Which, of course, is untrue, though I would note that at least one local conservanut pol I know of has circulated neo-Nazi e-mails in the past and palled around with swastika-lickers, notwithstanding his denials.

Conservative pundits such as the Arizona Republic's Rob Robb have taken to calling the recall effort an "abuse" of the system. Interesting how it became an "abuse" once the recall effort began to steamroll toward success.

We should remember that when the recall campaign began at the end of January, it was given only marginal coverage (if that) by the mainstream press.

But the little recall that could scored more signatures than Pearce got votes in his last campaign, where he pulled 17,552 lost souls. In the process, the recall campaign raised more than $30,000 and registered more than a thousand new voters.

So squeal, kvetch, and harrumph all you want, naysayers. Tell it to the voters. They're the ones who will now decide Pearce's fate. And there's not a dang thing you can do about it.

Recall supporters will party in Pearce's home town tonight from 6 p.m. on at a venue called The Wrighthouse, 636 W University Drive, Mesa. Consider it the first of many Pearce retirement parties in the months to come.

A better Arizona is just 'round the corner. To quote that great modern philosopher Bono, "It's a beautiful day..."

>"Conservative pundits such as the Arizona Republic's Rob Robb have taken to calling the recall effort an "abuse" of the system. Interesting how it became an "abuse" once the recall effort began to steamroll toward success."

What makes Robb's commentary so dastardly is that he presents an argument the recall movement has yet to counter -- one its abysmal website seemingly supports.

Robb's argument is pretty simple: it's never appropriate to recall a politician just for being the legislator he promised to be during the general election. Pearce is whom he claimed he would be, so the recall is an abuse -- an attempt to take a second kick at the can after having failed in the general election.

On its face, it's a fairly compelling argument, one the recall movement, for all its fantastic writings about why Pearce is a tool on a personal level, has not even remotely attempted to counter.

On its website, resplendent with sixth-grade grammar errors, incomplete sentences and html layout failures, the recall movement fails to even remotely address when recall is appropriate and why Pearce falls within that definition. Indeed, its section on "the case against Pearce," all it does is list his legislative record, thereby giving credence to Robb's complaint that the movement is just out to accomplish what it failed to do in a free and fair general election - remove a politician it politically disagrees with.

To bad, because the movement has true cause, but unless it ramps its messaging up, few undecided will ever know it, and it is the undecided that will make the difference in the election.

Collecting signatures was a monumental task and Chad Snow deserves a huge measure of respect and gratitude, but now its time to step up the movements game. It needs to devise a simple political syllogism that states when a recall is necessary and why Pearce falls within that need. Unless and until it does so, it's remains open to the wave-of-the-hand dismissal offered by the like of Robb.

So, Mr. Snow, you got game?  I hope so.

Our ASU Class West affiliates in Tempe sent this release, which they are sending worldwide.  Apparently Bill Stoller and his sidekick "L. Vanacore" authorized their names as signatories.  That indicates that Stoller and Crew are getting very confident these days.  Stephen should be happy that these guys are on his side.

"To The International Criminal Court Prosecuters, INTERPOL, the FBI, and The World Press:

These are opinions based on known facts.

We realize that some of our allies and colleagues will be very upset over this release. Tough - deal with it.

To The Chase:

Arizona's alleged neo-Nazi sympathizer and racist STATE SENATOR RUSSELL "1070" PEARCE now faces a recall vote, unless he resigns first.

Our suggestion - HIGH-TAIL IT TO IRELAND, Pearce. They don't extradite, and we'll be RID OF YOU.

Please see the www.PhoenixNewTimes.com report by STEPHEN LEMONS at http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.c...

We are also FILING FORMAL FBI COMPLAINTS AGAINST PEARCE, JOE ARPAIO, JAN BREWER, and many other corrupt ARIZONA POLITICOS, charging these lowlives with MISPRISION OF FELONY/TREASON, and ACTING AS ACCESSORIES AFTER THE FACT and/or CO-CONSPIRATORS in their intentional cover-ups of SOETORO/OBAMA, The CIA, and GEORGE H.W. BUSH's heinous crimes committed against the UNITED STATES and "We The People."

For evidence and documentation, please see: www.CRS-Reports.org; www.ATLAH.org; http://wtsnb.blogspot.com; http://wantagate.blogspot.com; and www.FourWinds10.com . CIA thug GEORGE H. W. BUSH and SOETORO/OBAMA's complicity in the WANTAGATE THEFT OF TRILLIONS is conclusively established in the attached HODGES LETTER.

Comments and feedback welcome.

Thank you Citizens for a Better Arizona you rock!  I thought Bob Robb wanted government for the people?  That why the AZ constitution has recall as important part for elected official.  Once elected officials are held accountable for what the do or face recall.  Pearce has gotten away with to much for to long.

 Pearce resume:

(1) Chief Deputy - MCSO - FIRED by the county sheriff

(2) Director - MVD Arizona - FIRED by the governor

(3) State Senator - FIRED by the voters.

That should do it.

Here is an example of the type of people that are destroying Arizona. They are fixated on the removal of certain individuals, who happen to be Americans that are trying to deal with illegal immigration. IN THE MEANTIME, there are hundreds of drug spotters, as far as 100 miles NORTH of the U.S. border, IN SOUTHERN ARIZONA, and directing the flow of drug trafficking. Only irrational, strange, disconnected Americans with an agenda, can't see how crazy this situation is. No, they are fixated on Americans that are trying to fight illegal immigration and all its negative consequences.

Keep in mind Tommy that that same shurf will be FIRED by the voters if and when Dennis Burke ever finds his balls and gets them to drop.....

I have a ton of respect for Snow and find your statement conclusory.

He's following the law and, unlike Pearce and seemingly you, genuinely wants to address the challenges Arizona faces.  Criminality is enabled when the status quo is maintained because the proposed alternatives are themselves illegal or only prone to making things worse.

Pearce needs recalled, in part, because his radicalism has stalled Arizona at a time when action is desperately needed.  Because Pearce has demonstrated he is unfit to lead, unable to follow the rule of law and too divisive to facilitate meaningful change.

Bobby
Bobby

Oh and P.S. The Obama administration is trying to prosecute Arizona while all this is going on. Insane!? Oh, some folks might think so. In fact, the administration seems to be alright with giving some of this drug trafficking land to Mexico, since they've warned Americans not to step foot on it, THEIR OWN COUNTRIES TERRITORY!! Yes, but let's get Pearce, and Brewer, and Arpaio, and other people causing all of these "problems" in Arizona. Now we can put on a recording of loony tunes............. it's only appropriate.

Pearce has four children, IIRC, three of which are, by all accounts I can find, good decent human beings. Two are law enforcement officers, out there putting their lives on the line to protect you.

So, with the one bad egg, does a 75-percent make for a father who has "failed miserably?"

At the end of the day, his fitness as a father has nothing to do with his fitness to be a state senator, and if you want to make this about personalities and parenthood there is a significant chance of blowback and sympathy in favor of Pearce, which is why the issue should be dropped.

It works in the PNT echo-chamber, but fails in the larger audience.

Criminality is ended when the statu quo is followed. What! You mean if the status quo has been to allow massive illegal immigration, pot growing in Arizonas national forests to the point of Americans not being allowed there, car thefts by the thousands, home invasion robberies by the hundreds, and on and on--that's a good thing. We shouldn't change anything? Good Lord!!

P.S. I don't disagree with much of your post, but the part on illegal immigration you folks always miss. Indeed, you act as if it has had a negligable effect on the country. I would suggest you ask the many citizens that have felt those effects--the deade policemen that had children and a wife, the innocent people killed by eight time drunk drivers here illegally, and on and on.

Bobby
Bobby

The concluded line of your post, shows what an anti-white racist you actually are. Excuse me, I'm not worried about these people at all. I'm worried about the spread of Mexican drug gangs, in every U.S. state now, the theft of citizens I.D.'s, the murderous behavior of radical Mexican gangs, the molestation of young girls by Mexican illegal alien perverts, the eight times drunk driving illegal alien,(this has happened over and over) that continues to kill someone else, the many illegal aliens that have killed U.S. law officers, and on and on. Funny, that are worries are in such different areas---YOU WORRYING ABOUT LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS, AND ME, WORRIYING ABOUT THE DEMONSTRABLE BEHAVIIOR OF FOREIGN NATIONALS FROM MEXICO AND ELSEWHERE  ILLEGALLY IN THIS COUNTRY.

Bobby Please come out here to East Mesa.I will meet you at the Aircraft Museum, then you can take me directly to those signs that you have seen with your own eyes in the desert.

I worry more about the home grown criminals in congress that would rather spend $600+ billion on an over bloated defense budget, $200 billion on funds to support FAITH based agencies, that would deny $68 million to an agency that helps with womens reproductive health.

I worry more that CORPORATIONS that are FOR privatizing prisons have been granted the same freedom of speech that you and I have but the people that they want to imprison and charge the US taxpayer $55,000 plus a year to house do not have.

I worry that half wit history re-writers are allowed to exist and are given their own talk show programs on a FOREIGN OWNED TV networks here in the US.

I worry that people that do not make $250,000+ a year are defending actions of those criminals in congress to make sure that those that do make that much are not taxed at the same level as someone who makes $65,000 a year.

I worry that roughly half the US population does not or can not tell that Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are only playing characters on their radio and TV shows and that they do not actually believe in the rubbish they spew.

I worry that roughly 1/4 of the US population actually falls for the SPEWAGE that is put out by FAIR and defends all those fallacies as truth because it fits with their world view and or view on why they are in the current financial or social situation that they are in.

I worry that half wits with guns and the attitude that they need .50 cal Snipers rifles and automatic shotguns to protect themselves from the danger that only they can see are allowed to own such weapons and that they are NOT LOCKED UP in a rubber room in a I-LOVE-ME jacket.

I worry that if the current batch of congress people get their way that you will see Great grannys Social security check being cashed by a Wall street investment company because " Well granny we can charge you anything we want to invest your retirement funds, now hand over the cat food too."

I worry that some meth'ed out bible thumping mid west freak-a-zoid will decide to drive his SUV to church and hit my teenage daughter more then my teenage daughter dating some hispanic boy and or Girl that may or may not have the proper documents.

I worry about senior citizens that are older then 70 being allowed to drive with out restrictions and hell for that matter to be allowed to vote while they are collecting a paycheck from the federal government.

I worry more about a nativist from the south or midwest strapping on a sucide vest and walking into an ER then I do about some undocumented person getting medical help at the same ER.

I worry that the troops that are coming back from the various wars will not beable to get the medical services they need because their insurence companys can drop them at will and will lable them as uninsurable and then they will not be able to get any kind of insurence.

In short Bobby I worry more about Jack wagons from the Mid-west and the south and the FAR right then I do about Mexicans.

Mexican Jack-Wagons will not be the ones to rekindle hostilities that were squashed back in 1848, that honor will be from the Mid-Western and Southern Jack-Wagons.

Bobby
Bobby

Apparently your'e confused. I believe in the rule of law, but the President, the Democratic Party and half the Republican party doesn't. Sigh... Doesn't it bother you that the administration has actually put up signs in Arizona, ON AMERICAN LAND, that tells AMERICANS TO STAY AWAY BECAUSE OF MEXICO'S CRIMINALITY? Mexican nationals, illegal aliens, if you will, from a foreign nation are calling the shots here in a U.S. state. Aren't you ashamed of that? Doens't it bother you that those who are supposed to represent you in D.C. don't give a RAT'S ASS ABOUT YOU OR YOUR STATE?

Bobby are you going to be moving to Arizona any time in the near future?

I just want to know so we could recommend some good areas of the valley of the sun to live in.

You really need to LIVE here and see exactly what the situation on the ground is. If you are truly supportive of the rule of law then you owe it to yourself to see all the things you rail against for yourself and through the bias of someone else's  view.

@6470f98a40cbc106a5565d01684591b9:disqus The problem is that as a law enforcement officer you do not go after a misdeamenor offender by comiting a felony yourself in the process, the end does not justify the means, its kinda like if I see a guy at a store stealing a piece of candy and I pull out my baton and beat him up without warning, he is comiting a misdeamenor and I am comiting a felony, the flaccid fool for example is going after illegal aliens that are in violation of a Civil Misdemeanor and his is comiting a shit load of felonies like racial profiling, abuse of power, etc. and to pay for that since he does not have the budget because the Feds revoked his 287(g) he has to misappropiate 100 million dollars of tax payers money for deputies salaries working on immigration raids, something he should not be doing in the first place since that is not one of his mandates as Sheriff and was told directly to cease and desist the immigration raids.

I see your point, I thought he only had 3, the nazi crack head idiot, the cop, and the dumb fuck that made fake drivers licenses for friends at the dmv while working there for his father (rus-SELL pearce) right around the same time pearce was commiting his own felony by erasing a friends DUI record so she could get a license.  I guess 2 out of 4 is about 50% success rate, I still call that a failure, but I agree his fitness as a father has nothing to do with his fitness to be a state senator, the point I was making is that this imbecile is a failure all around.
